- What is the deadline for filing my taxes ?
For the tax year 2010, you should file your taxes by April 15, 2011. If it falls on a sunday or holiday, you have time untill the following business day to file your return or extension request.
- Will my returns be filed electronically ?
Yes, if social security numbers and all the required info is provided.
- Will the refund be a direct deposit or check in mail ?
It can be either based entirely on your preference
- What if I'm not able to file my taxes in time ?
If you are not able to file your tax return, it is important to file an extension request with the IRS. An approved request provides you time untill Oct 15 to file your return.
- One or more of my family members do not have SSN, can I file my taxes?
Yes, you can and you should. For family members without an SSN, IRS provides Individual tax identification numbers. These are only for filing taxes and do not serve any other purpose.
- Can I claim mileage on my automobile as an expense?
Certain mileage expenses can be deducted as an expense, not all. Please talk to your tax consultant to understand your situation.
- Can I claim my apartment rent as an expense ?
Similar to the automobile expense, it can be claimed under certain circumstances. Please talk to your tax consultant.
- I'm getting a higher refund with another tax preparer. Can you please match or get me a higher refund?
We do not attempt to match or get you a higher refund than a competitor. To quote Jeffrey Archer, you will get the refund you are eligible for, "Not a penny less Not a penny more."
- If I owe money to the IRS, do I need to mail a check or pay electronically?
Either is fine. Electronic payments can be made using the electronic system.
